Vinson Smith, who played 12 years in the NFL, will serve as the head coach for the inaugural football season at Tri-CityChristianSchool , in partnership with Statesville Christian will begin a Middle School Football Program in the fall of 2008 and plans to expand the program to include a high school varsity team by the 2011-2012 school year.
Smith, a 1984 Statesville High School graduate, played football at East Carolina University from 1984-1987. He graduated from ECU with a B.S. in Communications. Following his college career, he played linebacker in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, and New Orleans Saints. Smith won a Super Bowl in 1992 with the Dallas Cowboys.
Vinson Smith has a passion for working with young athletes and his expertise and experience will propel the football program at Tri-City Christian forward.
